At its core, it’s a program focused on fostering good driving practices. "Eco Driving” has the mission of identifying chances for improvement in terms of fuel consumption, with the goal of limiting the emission of polluting gases and reducing the company’s energy bill.

The routes, the weather, air resistance, tire pressure, weight and driving style are all factors which influence fuel consumption. "Of all these, the only variable we can adapt is the driving style”, says Miguel Henriques, the man responsible for "Eco Driving”. Precisely for this reason, by applying this program Patinter is investing in training drivers in the right way to use the automatic gearbox and how to make the most of engine torque instead of power. That kind of practice has made it possible to reduce consumption outside the quoted economic zone.

"By combining this behavioral change with improvements on inertia and using effectively the different eco features of cars, it’s become possible to reduce fuel consumption”, concludes Miguel Henriques, reinforcing that the main goal for 2017 is recording a 2% reduction.
